Getting outside

Where to begin.... nature is free, its closer than you think and its by far the greatest medicine.

A resolve to many ills, sunshine, rain, earth in general or simply bird song. Its there for you when ever you need it. Which brings me to my next point, BHC are now actively working along side Britains much loved R.S.P.B and genuinely we are delighted to be providing a project by the name of Forest Bathing. An age old Japanese practice, taking a Forest Bath allows you to reconnect with your natural side and embrace nature for all it has to offer.

Each month we look at different topics in the way of mindful practice, self care, outside meditation and much more. Join us in our inner city green space located in Sandwell Birmingham UK, a real place of solace in an otherwise bustling city.

Tips

How are you really?

Stressed? Anxious? Feeling that your mind is overloaded? Here are a few ways you can bring yourself back to balance…

  • Focus on your breathing - breathing is the one thing we do 24 hours a day, mostly without thinking about it. By spending a few moments calming your breath and watching how you breathe will bring your heart rate down and help you focus a great deal more.

  • Focus on what you are doing right this moment - Think only of what you are doing this second, not what you have to do next or what you have done. Think now, what is it you are doing. Break the task down into small steps. We do so many things on auto pilot which in turn allows us to overthink. By focusing only on what you are currently doing allows you to centre yourself again and calm down.

  • 5,4,3,2,1 - in times of stress and worry try this exercise,

    5 things you can hear

    4 things you can see

    3 things you can touch

    2 things you can smell

    1 thing you can taste.
